CYBERSPACE - The BETA version of GayWebmasters.com has gone live. The site is an online community for webmasters of gay sites, webmasters that are gay, and those who offer products and services for gay webmasters. It features a blog, forums, and a resource directory, as well as news feeds from a variety of gay and industry sources.
“The site doesn’t officially launch until January 1st,” remarked Dick Hunter, creator of the new site, “but I wanted to give the webmaster community a chance to participate in the final stages of development. The backend is done, but there’s still lots of details to be decided, such as forum topics, etc. Not to mention it would be nice to have some content for the launch.”
Members can submit articles, commentary, and tutorials to the blog, discuss and network in the forums, and post their services and products in the resource directory. The backend is very functional, with one central control panel where members can manage all their submissions, thread subscriptions, account info, private messages, and more.
One thing that makes GayWebmasters.com unique is that, though created by an adult webmaster, the site targets the broader mainstream market as well. With three different “views” available, visitors can choose to see the content related to adult webmasters, mainstream webmasters, or both.
The occasion also marks the start of GayWebmasters.com’s $5000 Giveaway. “I’m giving away $1000 a month until June,” said Hunter. “To be eligible, you just need to create your free account and post at least one blog entry, forum message, or directory listing. Don’t delay because the sooner you join, the more chances you have to win.”
