As some of you may know, I’m a musician and also a huge Howard Stern fan. I’m not in a Stern market, so now that he’s on Sirius I’m thrilled that I can listen everyday.
I recently finished a song parody I did just for Howard, but since he’s on vacation (again) I figured I’d give you guys a sneak preview. I hope you enjoy it. It’s a parody of Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day”, and it’s called “You’re Gay”. That’s me on piano and organ, as well as singing.
Thanks! Now that it’s on the net, maybe someone will do a video for it or something. I’ve already put enough time into it. Not too mention I’ve listened to it WAY too many times!
I certainly thought so. They’re constantly accusing each other of being gay. It’s perfect! I’m just assuming they have a lot of listener submissions, and they haven’t gotten to mine. And now they’re on vacaction for the third time in two months.
True, but I’d say that generally the Stern Show is extremely gay friendly. They’re totally pro gay marriage, and even their announcer (George Takei) is gay. In fact, it seems like they’re almost obsessed with homosexuality, probably because gay shit is always funny.
I’d forgotten about George. I haven’t listened to the show in years. The last time I heard it, probably sometime in the mid-90’s some young guy called in and told Howard that he was straight but he’d been having thoughts of being with other guys and what should he do. Stern’s reply was something like, “You’re a homo, just give up now and set up a flower shop”. I didn’t think it was funny, but at the same time who in their right mind asks Howard Stern for advice on a sensitive issue? LOL!
Ironically, I love off-color humor. Strangers With Candy is one of my favorite shows and they can be insulting to everybody.
It’s the same kinda thing with Howard. He’s an equal opportunity insulter. Honestly, your just as likely to find me talking shit about gay people. I mean, we do give people a lot of ammunition.
Hear! Hear! I got raked over the coals on one of the OTHER boards b/cuz somebody asked what we hated about the gay community, and I didn’t hold back at all. I was accused of being a gay-hater and all kinds of stuff b/cuz I answered the question I was asked, and b/cuz I didn’ t readily embrace a culture which I find to be rather superficial and ridiculous.
Howard bores me. He’s a one-trick pony. I listened to his show for about a year, and then I just got tired of the same old, well, tired jokes and stuff. There’s only so many titty jokes that I can find funny.
I’m actually somewhat of a new listener, having never lived in a Stern market. So maybe I’ll be bored in a year. On the other hand, from what I understand, the later years on terrestrial radio were so restricted and edited, he really wasn’t at his best. I know what you mean though. I stopped watching the E! show cause they only showed the titty segments. But there’s a lot more to the show then that, like halarious song parodies. hehe
Interestingly, now that his TV show is OnDemand, it’s hardcore, and Mike Gange is now listed as the Custodian of Records. Wouldn’t it be great if the FBI showed up and did a 2257 record inspection while they were on the air? Now that would be good radio!
