Well, if any of us needs it, this guy does. Congratulations. I hope this money helps you out. It’s hard enough to find the man of your dreams, but then to have him taken away from you. Even if this just gets you a plane ticket or two to go see him, it’s a good thing. I’m so happy for you.
I don’t want to get all spiritual but I think it’s a bit of karmic fate here...either Roy’s been doing some really good things in this life or he was a saint in the last one! Congrats Roy you deserve it!
Can anyone figure out the odds of this? If there’s a 7.2% chance of it happening once, what are the chances of it happening three times? Would that be 7.2% of 7.2% of 7.2%? Cause that’s 0.0373248%!
I know that some would think that the odds against a winner would continue to decrease in number but mathematically the chances of all being losers (read: having no winner) remain the same for each day. You have a finite number of entries and potential outcomes that remains unchanged from one day to the next.
I see what you’re saying. True, the odds for any one drawing don’t change. But I’m talking about the chance of it happening three days in a row. I would think the odds of there being no winner three days in a row are greater then the odds of no winner on one day.
If you’re playing roulette and betting on red, the odds don’t change no matter how many time it’s come up red in a row. If there were no 0 and 00, then it would be 50/50, even if it just came up red 15 times in a row. But then again, you aren’t betting that it will come up red three times in a row. If you were able to bet on what color the next three spins would be, my guess is the payout would be better then 1 to 1, because I don’t think the odds of it coming up red three times in a row are 50/50.
