It seems like the more websites you run, the more spam you get. It’s almost inevitable due to domain registration info being harvested from the WHOIS and bots spidering the web collecting addresses. I have yet to find a good way to deal with it, and probably spend 15 minutes a day weeding the good messages out of my spam folder.
Obviously keyword filtering doesn’t work when you’re in the adult biz because a good portion of your legit mail will get filtered. So I use SpamArrest, which uses a challenge/response system to verify messages. But when I look through the unverified messages I always find a few legit ones from people who didn’t verify their addresses through the challenge/response system. SpamArrest helps bring most of my legit message to the inbox, but I still have to go through the unverified folder every few days and double check everything.
I am also thinking about to use SpamArrest. But I am affraid to loose important mails. And how secure is it?
So, in the meanwhile I delete all the fu....g spam and get every day angry about. It’s time to change it, I think.
I use SpamArrest....and I will say there are a few non-spam emails that have slipped thru the cracks for sure....often people are clueless and don’t authorize themselves, etc.....however, when it comes to the time wasted deleting spam...it’s 100% worth it…
It’s secure, but if you don’t want to miss any important emails you’ll have to look through the unverified email folder every few days. Like Jake said, some people will miss the verification email, or perhaps it wil get filtered into their own spam folder. If they’ve got a similiar challenge/response system on their account, then their verification email will end up in your unverified folder, and they’ll get a verification email which will get filtered into their unverfied folder.
