I’ve decided to get rid of the Gay Chat forum because it seemed a bit redundant. Most of the messages have been moved into For Men Only!, and the rest were moved to Adult Webmaster > General Discussion.

New Features: Collapsible Sections, Previous and Next Threads, and More!

I’ve just updated the backend of GW and added some new functionality to the site.

-Each section (Adult, Mainstream, etc) is now collapsible, and the settings are saved via a cookie.

-There are now Previous and Next thread links at the end of each thread, allowing you to easily jump between threads.

-The “View New Posts” feature now uses a backend DB instead of cookies, for portabilty between computers.

Ken Knox is now a Forum Moderator and Regular Blogger

I’m pleased to announce that Ken Knox of AVN Online is now a Forum Moderator for the Adult Webmaster Forums, as well as the first regular blogger for the Gay Webmasters Blog. I’m very excited to have Ken on-board. His long and distinguished career as an entertainment journalist and porn writer makes him a virtual Rolodex of interesting stories, information, and industry contacts, which should make for some interesting blog entries.

Ken Knox, aka XXXwriterDude, HollywoodKen, and Colt Spencer, is currently Associate Editor for AVN Online where he’s known for, among other things, his poplular column “The School of Hard Knox”. He’s also served as former Associate Editor for GayVN, columnist for Gay.com and RagingStallion.com, and author of a monthly sex column in Unzipped magazine. His other talents include screenwriter, entertainment journalist, aspiring adult filmmaker, and all-around dirty puppy.

$1000 Giveaway for April

Below are the entry numbers for this month’s giveaway. Each eligible member has been assigned eight entry numbers. If one of your entry number matches the last three of the closing number of today’s Nasdaq market, you win. For example, if the closing number was 8905.68. then the winning entry number would be 568. If no entry number matches, then the contest will be held over until the next business day and the next closing number will be used. This will repeat until someone wins.

Forums Have Been Consolidated

I’ve consolidated several forums in the interest of centralizing the discussions. Down the road I’ll start splitting them up again when we start getting more posts. But for now, the Traffic Marketplace forums have been merged with the General Discussion forums. All the threads are still there, they’ve just moved. I’ve also gotten rid of the BETA Phase forum and moved those threads into the Feedback Forum.

Traffic Ranking Is Now Active in the Directory

I finally got around to coding the traffic ranking system in The Gay Webmasters Resource Directory that displays the listings in order of who sent the most traffic back through an optional reciprical link. As usual, it was way easier then I thought, and I wish I’d done it sooner!

Now that it’s done, those of you that have directory listings, and those that don’t for that matter, are encouraged to add the GW button to your site. And if you’ve got a webmaster related product or service that’s not listed in the directory, click here list it for free today!

$1000 Giveaway for March

Here we go again! It’s time for another $1000 giveaway. The chances of winning this month are 1/115, which makes this once again one of the best contests around!

Things always seem to pick up around here when the $1000 is up for grabs, but I hope that you’ll continue to participate in these forums throughout the month. Things are still a little slow around here, but’s it’s picking up. Help keep the momentum going by posting regularly and including GayWebmasters.com in your daily forum crawl, if you have one.

This month is the first month that there are more then 99 entries. Therefore, I’m going to adjust the selection method slightly. Also, in order to increase the chances of getting a winner in the first “round”, each person gets 8 entry numbers. They are equally spaced between 1 and 920.
