Crazy Models—Whose Fault is It?

Today I just received an email noting that an up-and-coming gay adult model was returning to the industry after a short hiatus. This email came just a month after the model had allegedly left the industry in a mad huff, claiming he was “done with porn” for good and having pissed off several of the producers that he’d previously worked with. This, of course, sparked several adult directors, producers and webmasters to cry foul, proclaiming that said model’s career was “over,” and that they “would never work with him again.”

  1. Great article. As someone who has worked on both ends of the business (straight and gay), this could not be closer to the truth. This also applies to the directors and make up people as well. It’s all about money, getting the shot, onto the next. Most performers who enter the business have a need to be loved and adored. So when they get a little bit of attention or they become the next hot thing- it tends to turn them into crazy ego driven animals. LOVE ME LOVE ME is what they want and when they do not feel appreciated enough, the turn on the tears and numb themselves with drugs or alcohol or all the above and throw in some dangerous sex.
I better stop now-I could write a book!

  2. We all love attention.

I was and still am a model, luckily before I entered the business I attended some post secondary and had 5 years working in the real world. I had a pretty good idea of who I was and although I may have had a big head, I always treated people with respect, did my job and tried not to complain.

If your a director or producer etc and you dont want to feed this kind of behavior, then talk straight to your models. No more ‘Oh your my favorite’, ‘your so amazing’, ‘your going to be a star’...blah blah blah.. compliments are one thing but I know so many people in this business that just take it way to far. This business is so fake.
